found the anime i was looking for after YEARS using the screenshot search omg
ok so i've been trying to find this one anime for literally 3 years. all i remembered was a girl with blue hair on a rooftop at sunset and some violin music. tried google reverse image search, asked on reddit twice, nothing worked lol finally uploaded my screenshot here and the ai got it in like 2 seconds — it was Your Lie in April. i literally cried a little ngl has anyone else used this feature? cause it's insane
yesss the screenshot search is insane!! i had a super blurry screenshot from like 2016 and it still got it right lmao. found Clannad After Story from a single frame
wait clannad after story?? ok that's impressive cause the art style is pretty generic early 2000s. did you have any doubts or did it get it first try?
first try!! it gave me 3 options ranked by confidence and clannad was #1 with like 94%. the other two were also similar art style which makes sense
same thing happened to me with an anime i watched as a kid. thought it was gone forever lol. the ai is rly impressive even for older/obscure stuff
how does it actually work tho? like is it just image matching or smth more?
from what i understand it uses ai vision to analyze the art style, character design, color palette etc. not just pixel matching. that's why it works even on low quality images
ohhh that makes sense!! so it actually understands the visual style, not just looks for exact images. thats actually really cool
this is literally the only tool that works for finding obscure anime. google keeps giving me pinterest results and ive wasted hours on those lol
EXACTLY the pinterest thing drives me crazy. and reddit is hit or miss cause u need to describe it well enough for ppl to recognize it
