found the anime i was looking for after YEARS using the screenshot search omg

ok so i've been trying to find this one anime for literally 3 years. all i remembered was a girl with blue hair on a rooftop at sunset and some violin music. tried google reverse image search, asked on reddit twice, nothing worked lol finally uploaded my screenshot here and the ai got it in like 2 seconds — it was Your Lie in April. i literally cried a little ngl has anyone else used this feature? cause it's insane

romance anime where the characters are actually adults??

is it just me or is literally every romance anime set in highschool lol looking for romance where characters are college age or older, ideally with some realistic relationship development instead of the usual 'confess in ep 11 and thats the whole arc' thing already seen spice and wolf, wotakoi, nana. loved all three

ずっと名前がわからなかったアニメをやっと見つけました。覚えてたのは「青い髪の女の子が屋上に立ってる夕焼けのシーン」だけで、タイトルが全然思い出せなくて。 ここのAI検索にスクショをアップしたら数秒で「四月は君の嘘」って出てきた。感動した 説明文での検索も日本語で使えるし、かなり精度高いと思います

been curious how good the 'describe it and find it' feature actually is so i spent an afternoon testing it with increasingly obscure titles. here's my results: "mecha show where a depressed teenager pilots a giant robot and fights angels" → evangelion ✓ "isekai where mc gets reborn as a slime and builds a civilization" → tensura ✓ "psychological thriller, detective + a god who can kill by writing names" → death note ✓ "cooking battle school where defeats = losing your clothes" → food wars ✓ "two brothers use alchemy, one lost his body" → fmab ✓ got 9/10 right, the only one it missed was a really obscure 90s OVA that even reddit couldn't name lol tldr: it's really good, way better than i expected

been thinking about what makes an opening actually good vs just decent. for me it needs to: set the right tone for the show, have at least one moment that syncs perfectly with the music, and be rewatchable even after u finish the series my top 3: 1. Guren no Yumiya (AoT s1) — pure hype, you can feel the stakes in every second 2. Unravel (Tokyo Ghoul) — the slow build mirrors kaneki's breakdown 3. Tank! (Cowboy Bebop) — sets the whole vibe in 90 seconds what are yours and what makes them work for u?
